Compassionate, Evidence-Based Care That Meets You Where You Are

Choosing a psychologist is a deeply personal decision. You may be feeling overwhelmed, uncertain, or simply looking for support that feels both professional and human. My role is to provide a space where you feel understood, supported, and empowered — while also receiving high-quality, evidence-based care.

I am Dr. Lauren Colston, a licensed clinical psychologist and the founder of Coping Corners, LLC. I work with children, adolescents, adults, families, and professionals who are navigating emotional, behavioral, academic, or life-transition challenges. My approach is collaborative, culturally responsive, and grounded in practical strategies that can be used in real life — not just in sessions.

How I Work

I believe therapy should feel supportive, structured, and purposeful. Whether we are working through emotional regulation, anxiety, trauma, school-based concerns, or life stressors, my goal is to help you build insight and skills that translate beyond the therapy space.

I take a strengths-based approach while also addressing challenges directly and compassionately. Sessions are tailored to your individual needs, developmental level, and goals. For youth and families, I work closely with caregivers and schools when appropriate to ensure support is consistent and effective across environments.

Clients often describe my style as:

    • Warm and approachable

    • Direct but compassionate

    • Grounded in real-world application

When you work with me, you can expect:

    • Clear communication and transparency

    • A collaborative treatment process

    • Respect for your time, goals, and boundaries

    • A supportive environment that balances empathy with growth

My goal is not just to help you cope — but to help you build skills, confidence, and understanding that support long-term well-being.
